Class Descriptions

Collierville Arts Academy Youth Dance Classes are for boys and girls ages 7-12 and are at a variety of levels.  Our dance class season begins each August and concludes with the school year in May. We also offer a summer session for dance which is a wonderful way for students to retain their skills for the coming season. Parents may observe classes from our observation windows into the studio rooms.

Each class level at Collierville Arts Academy has a dress code that is purchased from our in-studio boutique once a student is enrolled at the Arts Academy. All dance students with long hair must wear their hair pulled back from their face and in a ponytail or bun style while taking class.

All Youth Level Dance Students (Levels III - V) perform in our Annual Student Showcase held at the Harrell Theatre in May.   All Youth Level Dancers have the option to audition for certain roles in the Collierville Ballet's production of The Nutcracker.

Dedicated dancers between the ages 9-12 may also audition to become members of the Collierville Ballet's Junior Company.  Students ages 9-12 with at least two years of dance training may audition in June or early August for the Collierville Ballet Company.  The Collierville Ballet Company is a local non-profit arts and humanities organization that provides educational and performance opportunities for youth in the dance arts.  The Collieville Ballet produces its own performing season including a full-length Nutcracker each December, BalletFest, tea and spring concert, and is featured in the annual CAA Student Showcase in May.
